Despite that, Hal Steinbrenner is not entertaining making a change at the top of the front office. According to a report, Brian Cashman\'s job as general manager is safe no matter how the season plays out.
\"The idea (of firing Cashman) isn\'t even on the table,\" a source told Bob Klapisch of NJ.com. \"It\'s not up for discussion.\"
While Cashman may be safe, Aaron Boone\'s future isn\'t on as solid ground. The manager\'s contract expires after the 2024 season.
