Diamondbacks To Promote Jordan Lawlar

The Arizona Diamondbacks are promoting top prospect Jordan Lawlar, according to a report.
In a corresponding move, the Diamondbacks are designating Nick Ahmed for assignment.
Lawlar seems likely to take over as the primary third baseman.
He was regarded as one of the top prospects in the 2021 draft class coming out of high school. He was the No. 6 pick, though Arizona went above slot with the third-highest signing bonus to add him to the system.
