Phillies\' Anthem \'Dancing On My Own\' Reaches One Billion Streams
The Philadelphia Phillies have used Calum Scott\'s cover of Robyn\'s \"Dancing On My Own\" as an anthem of sorts during the last two postseasons.
On Wednesday, the British singer announced that his song had reached 1 billion streams on Spotify. He gave a special thank you to the Phillies.
\"A HUGE thank you has to go to @Phillies also for making this song their anthem two years running. It\'s an honour boys and I\'m incredibly grateful to the players, the club and most importantly the fans,\" Scott wrote on X.
After it turned into a staple at Citizens Bank Park last October, the Phillies initially \"retired\" the song at the beginning of the 2023 season.
\"It\'s a second-place song,\" Kyle Schwarber said before the season.
But after struggling through the first part of the season, the team brought back the anthem following a win on June 4. Since that point, the Phillies have gone a combined 70-41 in the regular season and postseason.
