The Boston Red Sox are telling clubs that Kenley Jansen is available in a trade, according to a report.

Jansen, 36, is set to make $16 million this coming year. He signed a two-year deal with the Red Sox before the 2023 season.

Boston is believed to have told at least one free agent they must clear salary before they can make a formal offer.

Red Sox ownership is becoming laughable. they are paying $24M to Chris Sale and Justin turner not to play for them, and they HAVE to trade Jansen so they can sign another free agent? ?
Your total payroll is not even $170M, you are one of the most valuable franchises in the sport and have a very strong revenue stream and big fan base. Make it make sense?
