The New York Yankees and Texas Rangers have Josh Hader on their radar, but view the reliever more as a fallback option should they fail to land an impact starter.

Blake Snell and Jordan Montgomery currently headline the free agent market for starting pitchers.

\"If these teams can\'t sign a Snell or Montgomery, they may pivot to Hader and build up the back end of the game,\" a source said. \"He may have to wait a little while.\"

lol Yankees will fail to sign one of the two remaining big name free agent starters and pivot to Hader only to get outbid for Hader and while they’re spinning their pie on Hader both Hicks and Stephenson will sign elsewhere leaving them with reclamation project Liam Hendricks who they’ll hype up. Hendricks will then return from TJ surgery around the trade deadline and either not look right or get hurt again.
