Braves, Jose Perdomo Open Signing Period With $5M Deal

The Atlanta Braves have agreed to a $5 million deal with Jose Perdomo, the largest amount on the first day of the 2024 international signing period and the highest for a Venezuelan-born international amateur.
The 17-year-old shortstop was rated the No. 3 eligible prospect by MLB.com.
Players born from Sept. 1, 2006, through Aug. 31, 2007, are eligible to sign during this year\'s period, which ends Dec. 15.
