The Detroit Tigers are skipping Jack Flaherty\'s turn in the starting rotation due to back discomfort.
Flaherty was scheduled to take the mound against the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday, but remained in Los Angeles after his previous start against the Angels to receive an injection to treat the soreness.
A.J. Hinch is confident Flaherty will avoid the injured list.
Flaherty signed a one-year, $14 million contract with the Tigers in the offseason. The right-hander has a 3.24 ERA and 115 strikeouts over 89 innings this year.
