Brian Cashman: Yankees Slump Has \'Gone On Long Enough\'

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Jul 11, 2024 1:19 pm

The New York Yankees have dropped 17 of their last 24 games.

Amid the slump, general manager Brian Cashman and owner Hal Steinbrenner joined the club for their series against the Tampa Bay Rays in St. Petersburg.

\"Because of how we\'ve been playing, I\'ve decided to join us,\" Cashman said before Wednesday\'s game. \"It\'s been a struggle, obviously. Thankfully we got out of the gates really strong, so hopefully that cushion will allow us to work through this hopefully sooner than later on because it\'s gone on long enough.\"

Less than a month ago, the Yankees had a 3.5 game lead in the American League East. They now trail the Baltimore Orioles by two games.

Cashman also admitted that he had \"concern\" about how the Yankees have played as of late, and added that \"it\'s my job to be in a position to never assume anything.\"
