Pete Alonso Reaffirms Desire To Remain With Mets

Pete Alonso is in the final season of his contract, which has led to endless trade rumors.
To this point, talks of an extension between Alonso and the New York Mets haven\'t yielded much momentum.
\"I\'m super happy to be a Met, super proud to be a Met,\" said Alonso, who was drafted by the franchise in 2016. \"And, again, it\'s just been awesome. I\'d love to stay, and I don\'t want to get traded. I love it. It\'s home.\"
The likelihood of a trade has gone down in recent weeks as the Mets have surged since the start of June. They are 49-46, more than 12 games back in the National League East. However, they currently occupy one of the NL\'s three wild card berths.
