Ketel Marte aggravated his sprained left ankle when he checked his swing during the Arizona Diamondbacks\' loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday.
Marte was out of the starting lineup after being the designated hitter Saturday following a three-game absence. The infielder entered as a pinch hitter in the ninth inning but went down to the ground after a check swing and needed assistance to walk off the field.
\"I don\'t have any updates,\" Torey Lovullo said. \"Just being evaluated right now. Nothing more than what we originally saw. It didn\'t look great. He creates a lot of force when he pushes off the ground. A very strong man. It just got him.
\"We probably need to re-evaluate and find out how quickly we can get him back,\" Lovullo added.
Marte is hitting .298/.370/.560 with 30 home runs in 116 games this season. He\'s contributed 6.2 WAR to the Diamondbacks.
