Mariners Fire Scott Servais As Manager

The Seattle Mariners have fired Scott Servais as manager with Dan Wilson replacing him on an interim basis.
Seattle held a 10-game lead in the American League West as recently as June 18 and has a record of just 20-33 since then while falling five games behind the Houston Astros with only 34 remaining.
\"Where we were in the middle of June and where we are today -- it\'s hard to believe, actually, how quickly it all dissolved for us,\" Jerry Dipoto said on a videoconference call.
Servais was hired by the Mariners in 2016 to replace Lloyd McClendon. The Mariners reached the playoffs under Servais in 2022.
