The Los Angeles Angels have missed the playoffs in each of the last 10 seasons.
Despite a 63-99 record and last place finish in the American League West, owner Arte Moreno says the goal is to compete and make the postseason in 2025.
\"That\'s our goal,\" Moreno said. \"We\'re looking at \'25-\'26, because of the young people coming, but our goal is to be in the playoffs in \'25.\"
The \"young people\" Moreno is referring to are presumably second baseman and first-round pick Christian Moore, right-hander Caden Dana, and maybe even outfielder Nelson Rada, a 19-year-old who spent this season in Double-A.
Moreno also claimed he intends to allow the Angels to increase their payroll this winter.
His \"marching orders\" to general manager Perry Minasian, he told the Orange County Register, are to \"build a team that can compete for a playoff spot.\"
