**** nuts.
He's 26 and he's getting a 15 year contract.
The article also says that the Yankees offered him $760M over 16 years.... why do folks think he will still be worthwhile at 41/42 years old, let alone mid-late 30s.
I mean, I know the Mets are still paying Bobby Bonilla, but this **** seems crazy.

As hyped as I am for Juan Soto coming to the Mets, a 15 year deal is absolutely ridiculous and should never happen in sports. Nobody ever lives up to that deal. Nobody. He'll be 41 by the time it ends. Is he really going to be worth $50+m a year when he's 38-41? I'm excited for the near future, but this is going to end up as another Bonilla type deal in 7-8 years, bank on it. Teams should not be allowed to give contracts that long.
