Blue Jays To Acquire Andres Gimenez From Guardians

The Toronto Blue Jays are finalizing a deal to acquire second baseman Andres Gimenez from the Cleveland Guardians, according to a report.
A separate report also states that the two sides have an agreement on a trade in place.
The deal marks the first trade of the Winter Meetings. Gimenez was viewed by many as a core piece for the Guardians. He signed one of the biggest contracts in Cleveland history -- a seven-year, $106.5 million extension -- just before the 2023 season.
