The Los Angeles Dodgers are in serious discussions to sign free agent relief pitcher Kirby Yates. The Dodgers recently signed Tanner Scott to a four-year, $72 million deal and could further improve their bullpen by signing Yates.
Yates, who had a 1.17 ERA in 61 appearances for the Texas Rangers last season, served as a contingency plan for Scott.
The Dodgers ranked fifth in relief innings during the regular season and were also heavily utilized in the playoffs.
