Alex Cobb will be sidelined for about a month with right hip inflammation, manager A.J. Hinch confirmed Wednesday. Cobb signed a one-year, $15 million deal with the Tigers in December.
Cobb had surgery on his left hip following the 2023 season and made only three starts for the Cleveland Guardians in 2024, going 2-1 with a 2.76 ERA.
Cobb was an All-Star with the San Francisco Giants in 2023.
