Juan Soto will return to Yankee Stadium on Friday for the first time as a member of the New York Mets following his one season with the New York Yankees. Soto signed a $765 million deal with the Mets after helping lead the Yankees to a World Series appearance in 2024 while hitting 41 homers and a .989 OPS.
“I don’t mind,” Soto said about facing a possible hostile environment.
“He just is the same guy regardless of what the moment is, and he’s very consistent in his preparation,” Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns said. “He enjoys the moment. He also doesn’t make more of it than it is, and he understands he’s got to keep himself focused and centered. And I think he does a very good job of that.”
“He had a really good year with them, went to the World Series with them,”Carlos Mendoza said. “It’ll be exciting.”
