NBC has made an offer to Major League Baseball to take over the package of regular season and postseason games that ESPN recently walked away from. In February, ESPN opted out of its $550 million per year contract after the 2025 season and offered to pay $200 million annually in a renegotiated deal.
NBC would air games on Sunday night and would be streamed on Peacock. NBC also owns NFL and NBA games on Sundays and would air some games on NBC as opposed to Peacock.
NBC\'s relationship with the MLB dates back to 1947 and shifted to postseason games only ranging from 1996 until 2000. NBC also submitted a bid for the MLB in 2012.
