Jairus Byrd To Make Season Debut With Bills Amid Trade Rumors

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Oct 11, 2013 6:13 pm

Jairus Byrd will make his season debut in Week 6 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Byrd is one of the NFL's best safeties, but his future with the Buffalo Bills remains uncertain.

"Our focus right now is Jairus getting on the field and playing the best he can for the Buffalo Bills," GM Doug Whaley said Thursday. "We are not actively on the phone hammering out trying to look for a trade. By the same token, (team president) Russ Brandon would listen if someone wanted to trade.

Can't see the logic in the list amount for the Bills on that trade. Horrible trade idea.

How's it horrible? It works out for both sides. Austin gives the Bills a #1 WR and Byrd helps the Cowboys secondary that's in desperate need of a safety: free safety that is. When you have to sign a guy like Will Allen to be your stop-gap free safety, you know it's bad. Not sure why Johnson or Peprah haven't got a chance at FS, but I guess they simply aren't ready. Byrd would be a perfect fit and would instantly come right in and make an impact.
