The Cleveland Browns are expecting Josh Gordon to receive an eight-game ban instead of a year-long suspension.
Gordon's appeals were recently heard and a decision is expected to be announced in one to three weeks.
If Gordon gets an eight-game ban, he'd be eligible to return on Nov. 6.
"As frustrating as it is for Josh, I think he's handled it well," said Mike Pettine. "He's been practicing hard, giving good effort, finishing plays. Assuming if we don't hear anything, then he'll be out there Saturday."
