Kobe 2006 had a pretty awful supporting cast.

Yeah, absolutely, but to be fair, that was an expansion team, and they only won 18 games.

As far as teams that made the playoffs, T-Mac's 2003 team was absolutely horrible, with Grant Hill out due to injuries (he only played 29 games, and didn't play in the postseason). Amazing carry job done by McGrady.

Wade's 2009 and 2010 teams weren't any good (not to mention coached by a rookie coach).

McGrady, Bryant and Wade all led very poor teams to the playoffs (I mean '03 T-Mac, '06 and '07 Kobe, '09 and '10 Wade). At least Kobe had arguably the GOAT coach and one very good player - Odom, as a part of his supporting cast, but to be fair, he played in a tougher conference than McGrady or Wade, so it more or less evens out.

In terms of championship teams, I think Barry's supporting cast in '75, and Duncan's team in '03, were the weakest.

What Wade worked with in 09 was far worse than Lebron's cast in 09 or Duncan's in 03. The 09 and 10 Cavs weren't as bad as people portray, you don't win 66 and 62 games with a terrible supporting cast. They underperformed against Orlando and Boston, but besides that they were pretty good, not great but good.

He actually had pretty good teammates up through 2004. It's become a RealGM myth that all of his teams feature Ricky Davis.

For teams which made it to the playoffs its 2006 Kobe

I mean that Laker team had Smush Parker, Luke Walton, Kwame Brown in the starting linup . Without Kobe I think the Lakers would struggle winning 12 games.

Then comes 1988 Jordan and after that 2009 Wade

How do I revote? I thought you were asking who was the worst player and I chose Duncan, but now I see that you're asking who had the worst supporting cast, in which case it was clearly LeBron.

Duncan 2003 was better then Lebron in 2009

That's debatable. What's not debatable is that 03 Duncan had a significantly better supporting cast than 09 Lebron. 03 Robinson alone is better than anyone LeBron played with during his first stint in Cleveland

1976 Nets IMHO are the worst to win a title.

2nd best player with a PER of 16.2

It sort of seems silly to compare teams from the 70s to modern teams.

I mean we certainly wouldn't compare runners or swimmers from the 1970s to modern runners or swimmers. Hell, most male long distance runners from that time period would badly lose to the female distance runners of our era. The gap in athleticism is just too great to make a comparison

No one had a worse cast than Tracy McGrady in 2003. Not Bryant, not Wade, definitely not Duncan (seriously?).

That Tmac dragged them to 7 against Detroit is incredible. Derelict doesn't do them justice.

Totally agree. We can only wonder what the Magic could've done even just with the '05 version of Grant Hill (averaged 20/5/3 on 56.5% TS in 67 games) on that '03 squad. I think they could even make the finals in the East that year.

In 1963 Bob Hayes ran a 9.9 100 meters. Any females running that fast today? To suggest that female athletes of today could compete with college players from fifty plus years ago is absurd.
