NFL Cap Expected To Be Between $147M-$155M In 2016

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Dec 2, 2015 5:50 pm

The NFL league office has told general managers and cap guys for teams to expect the 2016 cap to come in between $147 million and $155 million.

The salary cap in 2015 is $143.28 million.

The cap first hit $100 million in 2016.

Well, aside from obvious verb tense mistake (it should read, "the cap will first hit $100 million in 2016"), the sentence is probably wrong, depending on the definition of "hit." The cap definitely crossed the $100 million threshold in 2006, but it didn't land on $100 million exactly. So maybe they are suggesting that the cap will be exactly $100 million in 2016, which would be a remarkable drop in the salary cap, entirely contrary to the rest of the post, and pretty much a complete impossibility.

Or maybe they 2006 rather than 2016.
