Devin Hester has been released by the Atlanta Falcons.
Hester missed the first 11 games of the 2015 season as a result of a toe injury, for which he had surgery in January.
Hester, a former second-round draft pick of the Chicago Bears, holds the NFL record for return touchdowns 20, a record he set with the Falcons against the Bears during the 2014 season.
It is unclear whether Hester will continue his career or retire.
