Jason Pierre-Paul had surgery Wednesday morning to repair a sports hernia and his injured groin and is likely to be sidelined for the rest of the regular season, according to a source.
The recovery time is expected to be six weeks. For Pierre-Paul to play again this season, the New York Giants would likely have to advance to the NFC Championship Game.
Pierre-Paul will be a free agent after the season.
