Josh McDaniels has confirmed he will remain as offensive coordinator of the New England Patriots.
McDaniels had interviewed for the San Francisco 49ers' head coaching job.
"At this time, best for family and myself to remain here in New England," said McDaniels.
According to Adam Schefter, the 49ers are "honing in" on hiring Kyle Shanahan.
Shanahan is currently offensive coordinator of the Atlanta Falcons.
