Beyond strictly looking at wins and losses, DVOA by Football Outsiders gives a clear picture of team performance.
The following Infographic shows the past 10 years of DVOA rankings (2008-2017) for the Atlanta Falcons.
The Falcons had early career success behind Matt Ryan and nearly reached the Super Bowl in Julio Jones\' second season before dropping down again. Mike Smith was fired and the Falcons nearly won the Super Bowl in Dan Quinn\'s second season as they ranked third in DVOA.
The Falcons then dropped to 15th after losing Kyle Shanahan to the 49ers, but they remained a playoff team.
