ESPN is preparing an offer for Tony Romo to become their color analyst on Monday Night Football that would pay him between $10 million and $14 million per season.

Romo could also potentially quarterback ESPN’s NFL game coverage if parent Disney acquires a Sunday afternoon game package from rival Fox Sports, CBS Sports, and NBC Sports during the next round of NFL TV negotiations in 2020-2021.

CBS has a right to match any offers for Romo.

Romo is currently making approximately $4 million per season. Troy Aikman makes around $7.5 million per season. Jon Gruden earned over $6 million per season when he was on Monday Night Football. During the early 1990s, John Madden made $8 million a year.

Dude's poised to make even more than he did as a QB for less work.

They should, he has been fantastic his 3 years on CBS. IMHO the NFL should just give Monday Night Football back to a local station, ESPN as a company has completely lost its charm, but hiring Romo would be a step in the right direction.

I like his commentary but no commentator is worth 10m+ each year. None.
