Buccaneers Announce Tom Brady Will Wear No. 12

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have announced that Tom Brady will wear No. 12 with the team.

Chris Godwin, who has worn the number for the team, will switch to No. 14 as he heads into his fourth season.

According to the Buccaneers, Godwin wasn\'t compensated for the switch.

Did anybody even question that for a second? Of course he's staying with 12.

Yeah, people questioned whether Brady'd want to keep the number, since he's not super-attached to #12. He was just randomly assigned it when he came into the league, because the #10 that he wore when was younger was not available to him at the time with the Pats.

Whether it was random at the beginning is not relevant. 12 is part of him now. He has the TB-12 cult and everything. He's hall of famer, he gets his number.

If he wants it, yes, of course. I'm just saying what I read he said to an interviewer about the story of him and the number, so in that sense it does seem relevant.
