DeMaurice Smith: Workouts Go Against Player Safety

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jun 29, 2020 1:05 pm

NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith isn\'t happy that NFL players continue to work out together despite a union advisory sent out last week saying they should stop doing so.

Smith was specifically asked about social media posts from workouts by Tom Brady and Russell Wilson and said they aren\'t acting \"in the best interest of player safety.\"

On June 20, Dr. Thom Mayer, the NFLPA\'s medical director, issued a statement advising players to avoid working out with teammates to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

\"They\'re not in the best interest of protecting our players heading into training camp, and I don\'t think they are in the best interest of us getting through an entire season,\" Smith told USA Today.
