The New England Patriots have informed Mohamed Sanu that they intend to release him.
New England acquired Sanu from the Atlanta Falcons for a second-round pick last October.
Sanu was due to earn $6.5 million this season. He was likely to enter the season as the Patriots\' No. 4 wide receiver.
