Seahawks Rebuffed \'Very Aggressive Pursuit\' Of Russell Wilson By Bears

The Chicago Bears engaged in a \"very aggressive pursuit\" of a trade for Russell Wilson, but were told by the Seattle Seahawks no trade would be considered at this time.
The Bears were on Wilson\'s list of four teams along with the Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints and Las Vegas Raiders. The Cowboys re-signed Dak Prescott last week, while the Saints have retained Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill. The Saints also have salary-cap issues that would make it difficult to absorb Wilson\'s $19 million base salary for 2021.
The Bears pivoted instead to signing Andy Dalton to a one-year deal.
