Brian Callahan Sees Joe Mixon As Every Down Back

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed May 5, 2021 1:04 pm

The Cincinnati Bengals expect Joe Mixon to have a larger workload in 2021.

They released Giovanni Bernard last month, creating some carries in the offense.

\"I don\'t want Joe to leave the field, personally, and I think he\'s up to that challenge,\" offensive coordinator Brian Callahan said. \"He has some things he has to improve pass-protection-wise. Joe shouldn\'t come off the field. He should be on the field every down. He\'s aware of that.\"

Mixon missed the last 10 games of the 2020 season due to injury, ending the season on injured reserve. The starting back played just 60 percent of the snaps in 2018 and 2019.

"We want him to be an every-down back (for the 4 games a season he plays). And before you ask, no, we're not making any significant investments in our offensive line."
