Agent: Johnny Manziel Watched \'Zero\' Film In The NFL

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Aug 9, 2023 12:53 pm

Johnny Manziel struggled in the NFL and a new documentary has shed some light on why that might have been.

Manziel\'s former agent, Erik Burkhardt, explains that he was hearing from general managers that Manziel \"doesn\'t watch tape.\"

\"Well, he\'s gotta watch some tape,\" Burkhardt replied. The response: \"His iPad hours is zero point zero, zero.\"

The documentary then cuts to Manziel, who admits it himself. \"Zero.\"

Some people just don't have what it takes to succeed in life. They just want to have fun and do the bare minimum. Not like people didn't know this prior to him being drafted.

A lot of people with incredible natural talent don't develop the work ethic side of things because they simply don't need to. The total talent you can have is a combination of all of those things though, and in most fields, natural talent would be sufficient, because you don't need to be in the top 32 people in the world at something. You can't be top 32 in the world without immense both immense natural talent and elite work ethic, and unlike most fields, if you are the 100th best QB in the world, it isn't really all that useful.

No surprise there but glad he was able to dig his way out of the issues he was dealing with.

Agreed, they feel they don't need to because of the talent, but that's usually the main reason they never take their game to the next level. Some people just don't have that work ethic. When you look at guys like Jordan, Kobe and LBJ, they worked their tails off to be the best.
