Packers Fire Joe Barry As Defensive Coordinator

The Green Bay Packers have fired Joe Barry as defensive coordinator.

The Packers struggled defensively in their third season under Barry, finishing tied for 17th in total defense and 28th in rushing defense in 2023.

Barry was hired in 2021 to replace Mike Pettine.

Barry has worked as an NFL assistant coach since 2000 and served as a defensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions (2007-08) and Washington Commanders (2015-16).

I don't know how this guy keep getting defensive coordinator jobs. Dude had garbage defenses with the Lions and was fired, had garbage defenses with the Redskins, and was fired yet the Packers thought hiring him was a great idea. No surprise the Packers didn't have a good defense and ended up having to fire him. Hopefully this is the end of Joe Barry's career as defensive coordinator.
