Terrion Arnold: Raiders Used Coin Toss To Determine First-Round Pick

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu May 9, 2024 1:07 pm

The Las Vegas Raiders nearly selected Terrion Arnold with the 13th overall pick in the NFL Draft last month, says the cornerback.

Instead, the Raiders used the pick on tight end Brock Bowers. According to Arnold, Las Vegas used a coin toss to determine whether to take Arnold or Bowers.

\"(The Lions) knew that the Raiders were a possibility,\" Arnold told \"The Next Round\" podcast this week. \"And actually the Raiders coach, they called me after the draft, and they were like, \'We actually had a coin toss between you and Brock Bowers. It landed on him.\' I was like, \'Oh wow.\'\"

Raiders general manager Champ Kelly told reporters Wednesday he \"can\'t confirm\" whether an actual coin toss occurred, commenting only that Las Vegas is \"excited to get Brock here\" as part of the offense.

LOL. I get that they are Las Vegas, but using a coin flip to decide a draft pick is as silly as it gets. Imagine being Brock Bowers and knowing that you were picked on a gamble. Too funny and full of irony.

It’s sounds like he said it more as like a joking statement than actually being serious about flipping a coin.

More like just saying it was super close and we went with him.
