Giants \'Would Not Be Afraid\' Of Playing Travis Hunter Both Ways

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Apr 16, 2025 7:15 pm

If Colorado two-way player Travis Hunter gets drafted by the New York Giants third overall next week, he will get his wish to play both cornerback and wide receiver at the NFL level.

\"We would not be afraid to play him on both sides of the ball,\" Giants general manager Joe Schoen said Wednesday during his annual pre-draft news conference.

Easier said than done. You can't play a guy on both offense and defense in the same game, at least not consistently. This will lead to extreme wear and tear and likely a short career. I get there may be situations where it is viable but it wouldn't be the norm. It would be in Travis' best interest and the interest of the Giants to focus on one position and bring that to the NFL level before even thinking about a second one.

Agree. Just running backs who’s have 25+ carries a game are often injury prone from the work load. This would be a significantly larger workload than 25+ carries a game.

I also don’t think there’s enough hours in the day to memorize each playbook and get practice reps in with both offense and defensive teams
