The Kansas City Chiefs are actively exploring options to trade up in the first round of the upcoming NFL Draft, according to league sources. Their primary target appears to be a long-term solution at offensive tackle.
Kansas City reportedly aims to position themselves ahead of the Houston Texans (No. 25) and Los Angeles Rams (No. 26), who are both potential landing spots for top tackle prospects.
The offensive line has become a priority for Kansas City after the team traded veteran offensive lineman Joe Thuney to the Chicago Bears this offseason. Thuney had filled in at left tackle last season when injuries created a positional need.
While the Chiefs did sign left tackle Jaylon Moore in free agency, the team was otherwise quiet during the open market period, focusing instead on re-signing their own players. The potential draft trade would signal a more aggressive approach to securing premium offensive line talent.
