Cowboys Targeted Tetairoa McMillan At No. 12

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed May 7, 2025 5:35 pm

The Dallas Cowboys would have considered selecting Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan with the 12th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft had he been available, according to league sources.

McMillan \"would have been an option,\" a source confirmed to ESPN. The talented receiver was instead taken eighth overall by the Carolina Panthers, leaving Dallas to select offensive lineman Tyler Booker.

The Cowboys reportedly attempted to trade down from the 12th position but were unable to finalize any deals. This left them to make their selection at their original draft slot.

Cowboys Address Receiver Position Through Trade

While missing out on McMillan, Dallas bolstered their receiving corps this week by acquiring George Pickens via trade. This move adds depth behind star receiver CeeDee Lamb.

NFL talent evaluators note that McMillan, despite being considered an excellent pass catcher, has shown some limitations in creating separation from defenders.

Several rival teams believed Booker was a natural fit for the Cowboys\' draft philosophy. The offensive lineman is regarded as a no-nonsense player with strong pedigree, aligning with Dallas\' traditional approach to building their offensive line.
