Joe Burrow took 100% of the Cincinnati Bengals\' practice reps Thursday for the second consecutive day, according to the team\'s injury report. Burrow has not played since suffering a turf toe injury in Week 2 and underwent successful surgery. Zac Taylor left the door open for a potential return Sunday against the New England Patriots.
Burrow was the first quarterback to throw during position drills despite Joe Flacco practicing after missing Wednesday with a shoulder injury. Flacco has typically received the largest workload during Thursday practices, but Burrow received more favorable treatment this week. The Bengals opened Burrow\'s 21-day window to return from injured reserve on November 10.
Taylor said he has not made a decision on Burrow\'s availability for Sunday\'s game. The Bengals will hold their final practice of the week Friday before Taylor addresses reporters.
\"I\'m not there yet,\" Taylor said in an interview with radio station WLW. \"One day at practice isn\'t going to lead to that decision yet. We\'ll use the time we have at our disposal and come with the best decision we can.\"
Wide receiver Tee Higgins said Burrow has looked as good as he did at the start of the season. Higgins noted Burrow gave him a knowing glance during practice Thursday.
\"Joe\'s been looking outstanding, man,\" Higgins said. \"He\'s slinging it deep, short routes. Everything\'s been pretty good.\"
The Bengals are 3-7 and looking to avoid their fourth straight loss. They have lost eight consecutive games to New England, which enters Sunday\'s matchup at 9-2. Burrow initially targeted a Thanksgiving return before this week\'s developments suggested an earlier comeback.
\"He needs to take as much time as he needs, but I mean, he looks good,\" Higgins said. \"If he\'s ready, then I\'m ready.\"
