Week 17 Fantasy Football Adds

Post#1 » by RealGM Articles » Wed Dec 25, 2013 3:17 pm

The players listed below should be found on the waiver wire in all standard fantasy leagues. Previous pick up recommendations included Zac Stacy, Danny Woodhead, Harry Douglas, Keenan Allen,, Jordan Reed, Nick Foles, Andre Brown, Percy Harvin, Michael Crabtree, Bobby Rainey, and Riley Cooper.

Quaterback

- Kirk Cousins (all leagues)

Cousins has played relatively well in his first two starts of the season and I expect him to go out with a bang this week. The Washington Redskins are playing the New York Giants, so expect Cousins to throw and throw often. It appears to me that the Redskins will be trying to showcase Cousins, so they can increase his trade value for the offseason. He is only owned in 24 percent of Yahoo! Leagues so pick him up if you need a quarterback to replace Tony Romo.

Running Backs

- Jonathan Grimes (all leagues)

Injures have killed the running back position for the Houston Texans. Grimes will get the start this week against a favorable matchup with the Tennessee Titans. If you have no other options pick him up and role the dice with him. He is currently owned in zero percent of Yahoo! Leagues.

- Knile Davis (deeper formats)

Jamaal Charles might sit this week since the Chiefs have absolutely nothing to play in regards to playoff position. All Charles owners should add him just in case he sits and make sure to monitor the situation as the week progresses. Davis fumbled twice last week so he might not be a great option for fantasy owners, but he is currently owned in three percent of Yahoo! Leagues.

Wide Receiver

- Jerrel Jernigan (all leagues)

Once Victor Cruz went down with a season ending injury many people thought Hakeem Nicks or Ruben Randle would see an increase in targets. However, Jernigan had six catches for 80 yards and a touchdown last week and appears to be the one that will benefit the most from Cruz’s injury. If you are desperate for someone to play he is not a bad option since the Giants will be playing the Redskins this week.

Defense

Detroit Lions (all leagues)

The Lions seems has been very disappointing for their fans and fantasy owners this season. Many were expecting big numbers for this team but overall the team fell a little short of expectations.  The Lions defense faces a weak Vikings offense and should have a field day. Expect the Lions defense to score more than 10 points this week so a great plug and play option for fantasy owners.
