The Tampa Bay Lightning will retain Jon Cooper as head coach next season following their first round loss to the Florida Panthers.
\"Coop will be back next year,\" general manager Julien BriseBois said on Friday.
Cooper is the longest-tenured coach in the NHL after joining the Lightning in 2013. Tampa Bay won back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2020 and 2021. The Lightning haven\'t advanced out of the first round over the past three straight seasons.
\"It was our turn for a while. Now it\'s theirs. And it\'s our job to make sure it\'s our turn again,\" said Cooper after Wednesday\'s elimination.
