Daniel Alfredsson has informed the Senators that he is leaving the organization to pursue his free-agent opportunities, a source confirmed.
Another source tells ESPN.com that Alfredsson has decided to join the Red Wings. Detroit and his agent have to work out a deal over the next few hours.
