The Hurricanes on Tuesday signed right wing Jared Staal to a one-year, two-way contract, according to an NHL.com report.
According to the team's website, the deal will pay the youngest of the four Staal brothers $550,000 if he plays in the NHL and $60,000 if he's in the AHL during the 2013-14 season.
