NHL To Enforce Sweater Tuck Rule

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat Sep 21, 2013 8:14 pm

The NHL is no longer allowing players to tuck the back of their jerseys into their hockey pants the way Wayne Gretzky famously did.

According to Rule 9.5, all protective equipment, except gloves, headgear and goaltenders’ leg pads, must be worn under the uniform.

Player safety and aesthetics were behind this enforcement decision, according to the NHL.
