Kris Russell signed a one-year, $1.25 million contract extension with the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday that will run through the 2021-22 season.
The 33-year-old defenseman could have become an unrestricted free agent after this season. Russell had nine assists in 55 games last season, his fourth with the Oilers.
