NHL Power Rankings, Mid-January Edition

The Predators, Blackhawks, Ducks, Lightning, Rangers and Islanders have all been banking wins of late to reach the top-tier of our NHL Power Rankings.

1. Predators:  First in fewest goals allowed; Fifth in goals per game.  How will they respond without Pekka Rinne out of the lineup?

2. Blackhawks:  Patrick Kane leads the team in goals & assists.

3. Ducks:  The Ducks continue to have success in one-goal games.

4. Lightning: A team on the rise, and a winner of 7 of 8 games.

5. Rangers: An impressive sweep on the West Coast for the red-hot Rangers.

6. Islanders: This team is playing as it expects to win, night-in, and night-out.

7. Penguins: David Perron is a perfect fit for the Penguins moving forward.

8. Blues: First in power-plays and second in goals.

9. Capitals: The red-hot Capitals are chasing the Division leaders.

10. Canadiens:  Max Pacioretty leads the way for Montreal.
