What grade do you give the Nets for trading Mikal Bridges to the Knicks for five first round picks and a pick swap?

Kudos to the Nets front-office.

Turned a post-Achilles injury 33 year old Durant into :

Bojan Bogdanovic, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder
8 unprotected future first-round picks
1 protected first round pick
1 unprotected pick swap
1 second-rounder

Yet, it still does not seem like the Nets know what they are doing.

Not long ago, they were building a "culture" with Atkinson as head coach. Then they tossed it all out the window for the 3 Stooges of KD, Harden, & Kyrie. After that disaster, they planned to rebuild with Bridges as a cornerstone.

I would not be surprised to see Marks & Co. take this haul of picks and throw it into the trade market in hopes of bringing in a "star" player.

Nets are doing just fine. Marks rebuilt from nothing and took a big swing and came within a KD toenail of the Finals, not long ago. They rapidly evaluated Bridges potential and decided quickly to move on and get a haul, which puts them in position to bring in stars again. That's good asset management.

Contrast that with the Raptors who have almost nothing to show for: FVV, Ibaka, Lowry, Gasol, Green & Siakam. The only decent asset management they did was getting IQ & RJ Barrett for an expiring OG.

The Houston Rockets won this trade. They have the Nets 2026 first round pick and swamp rights in 2025 and 2027. The Nets are looking pretty bad in the next few years.
