Re: Do you like the idea of players wearing their nicknames
i am shocked at so many people voting against it especially since people seem to be so quick to nickname players. I have no problem with it especially since it won't be a regular thing.

I like the idea, but then you get the role players trying to put nicknames on their jerseys. I'm not trying to see Mario Chambers have some dumb ass nickname on his jersey. I think it is a pretty cool idea though for maybe 1-2 games.

I don't care. They can wear whatever they want, as long as they win games.

So ridiculous that the NBA is thinking about doing this for the Heat and Nets like in the article on this site?

Big surprise this comes out of MIA. BOS, NJ, MIA, NYK etc can stock up whenever, however & w/ whoever they want but this Shawshank Redemption warden of Ann nba commissioner we have to deal with blocks Chris Paul to Lakers but might approve Jersey nicknames for the teams that can do no wrong & whatever they want? C'mon total bs. Aside from this most likely is to sky rocket jersey sales any other reasoning is ridiculous.

I think the fans should come up with the names. Now, that would be interesting. Kind of pathetic for a player to come up with the name himself.

I wouldn't mind nickname on back of the warm up shirts but definitely not on game jerseys for more than a single game asst the most..

Tacky! Plain and simple. Plus, there's no good nicknames besides the Black Mamba/Lord of the Rings (Kobe), The Human Torch (Steph Curry), and Sugar Ray/Jesus (Ray Allen).

Re: Do you like the idea of players wearing their nicknames
Who came up with this stupid a$$ idea? Most of the players do not have a nickname...so every player would need one...give me a break. Truly, I have never heard a more idiotic idea for the game.

This is the dumbest idea ever. This isn't the And 1 mixtape tour, it's the NBA. I hope they decide to keep some level of professionalism in the Association...

Re: Do you like the idea of players wearing their nicknames
Nicknames is a lot better than allowing their Twitter names! Personally I would have loved a Malone Jersey that said "Mailman".....plus I think nicknames help build a players popularity, which helps ticket and merchandise sales.
