step 1: Trade all your 1st round picks for peanuts and get all the old washed up vets.
step 2: nba title!

actual result: spectacular failure and a huge tax bill

Hindsight is 20/20. Who would have predicted the injuries? (besides Lakers fans)

Lopez has a bolt holding his foot together. The expectation that he would have a major injury was very reasonable. Garnett has missed between 10% and 30% of each of the last 6 seasons. Kirilenko has missed between 10% and 50% of each of his last 8 NBA seasons. Deron Williams has neglected his conditioning for the past few seasons. Yeah the injuries were very predictable. It did look like they could be a contender barring injury, so they went the big risk/big reward route, and it appears that it will not pay off.

I think RealGM has been slowing asking "approve of job" by different teams so they can get to this one.

Anyone who approves the Nets, is probably crazy. I don't see a good playoff run this year, and maybe next year. They have no picks, guys who should retire, and made bad coaching decisions, starting with hiring Jason Kidd, to letting Jason Kidd demote his top assistant.

(out of 10)

Jason Kidd = 0

Nets Management aka Billy King = 2

Nets Effort = 3

So funny to read all these now, as the Nets have had a complete 180 in their season...
