They usually make the right moves, sign players that nobody knows, and end up 1st or 2nd in the West standings by April, so I say A.
My all-time starting five: Hakeem Olajuwan, Michael Jordan, and three 3nD role players.

I follow the NBA, not just one team.

I'm not a huge fan of their offseason just because they couldn't unload Aldridge. The Spurs are the Spurs so they'll get a high seed in the playoffs like they always do with or without Aldridge, but the dude can't play in the playoffs versus the Rockets or Warriors. Too much of a liability.

It's funny you should say he doesn't match up with the current Rockets roster because 2 years ago with Howard, Portland was pretty much destroying the match up against Howard. If Gay ends up contributing effectively then I would give them a solid B+. The Spurs deep run in the playoffs are still very much dependent on Parker/Manu's health.

I think we finally see the decline of the Spurs beginning this season.

Yeah it's a combination of the league getting smaller/faster and Aldridge declining. I think you can play him or Gasol and be fine defensively but not both together.

I would give them an A for signing Gay for cheap and retaining Manu, Mills. and Gasol, but they lost Simmons who I think was good and had upside. I gave them a C.

I had them at an A grade myself until I read about them giving a 16m(3/48m) for a 36yo Gasol and that deal alone cripples their potential cap space for a guy who is the last stage of his career. Mills for 12.5m, Gay for 8.4m and Manu 2.5m were all great deals and I'd rather the Spurs just give that Gasol money to bring back Simmons.

The Gasol resigning was a huge scratcher, especially considering he got a slight raise for career lows across the board. Though has to do with his minutes dwindling but his efficiency has increased (53.8% from 3!)
